We are an extremely active club with regular training sessions taking over the Winter period. During the Summer there are lots of different events for our members to get their teeth stuck in to. Members take part in some of the many official races that are held in and around the local area (as well as travelling further affield to compete Nationally). HTC operate an active Facebook closed account, which is the main method of communication for events.
Annual weekend away
Every year (generally in March), the Club organises a “training” weekend in the North Yorkshire Moors, with lots for everyone to get involved in. This usually involves a bike ride and a hike with plenty of time left over for having a laugh over drinks and food. The cost depends on numbers but is usually around £100 which includes accommodation, food and drink for 2 nights.
Running muddy fun! Every Winter we take part in the PECO XC League. Build strength and endurance and have fun!
One off training sessions
Brownlee training centre sessions will be scheduled to support bike and run techniques. To be delivered by specialist guest coaches. It is home to The Brownlee Centre, which is the UK’s first purpose-built triathlon training centre and sits alongside our new 1 mile (1.6km) Bodington cycle circuit, one of the longest in the country.
The club encourages all our members to participate in the local Parkrun event, every Saturday morning at 9am. Its a great opportunity to kick off your weekend in the right way, meet new people, have an enjoyable run, and also get used to running amongst large groups of people, as well as developing your non-compulsory sprint finish!
Peco races: Active participation in the Peco cross country Winter League.
Socials: HTC is a lively club with an active social calendar including a post swim monthly beer (evening sessions only!), Christmas nights out, a summer BBQ and members organise days out such as The 3 Peaks Walk.
